Manchester city now in advance talks to sign another player today after Nunes

Manchester City could sign another player following Matheus Nunes, according to Nedum Onuoha, before tonight’s transfer deadline.

It was rumoured earlier this week that Manchester City had struck a £53 million deal with Wolves for the Portuguese midfielder, who has now been formally identified as a new City player.

With the summer transfer window closing tonight, one expert and former City player claims that Nunes may not be the only new face to arrive at the Etihad Stadium today.

Onuoha-  City could sign another player today.

When asked if City may sign another player today after the arrival of Nunes, Onuoha had this to say in a recent broadcast on the ESPN FC YouTube channel.

“I think there could be one more,” he remarked. “I believe there could be another attacking-type midfielder.”I still think there’s room for one more, maybe he wants Bernardo [Silva] to play more central and then more cover for [Jack] Grealish on the far side, so I think they’ll get one more.”

During the current summer transfer window, City has seen various players come in and out of the club, losing figures such as Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, and Aymeric Laporte while also signing fresh names such as Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, and Jeremy Doku.

Cole Palmer recently joined Chelsea on a permanent move of £42.5 million, and James McAtee is apparently due to join Sheffield United on another loan agreement.

Having already lost Kevin De Bruyne to a long-term injury, Pep Guardiola’s thoughts on bringing in another midfielder today may have been influenced by this.

With that in mind, Onuoha’s idea that the Manchester club may sneak in a final more plausible.
