According to Voetbal Krant, Club Brugge has decided whether or not to pursue the services of Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk.
On Monday (4 September), the Dutch media outlet claimed on its website that the centre-back had been on their radar in recent weeks.
However, they have opted not to seek the 24-year-old’s services before the deadline of 11 p.m. on September 6.
Excellent news
The last thing the Whites would have wanted was for another first-team player to leave without a replacement.
Daniel Farke will have been irritated by the circumstances of Luis Sinisterra’s exit, as it appeared that he would remain at Elland Road.
But that was not to be, as he ended up joining Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.
However, Jaidon Anthony came the opposite way, and an argument can be made that, based on availability, Leeds got the better end of the deal.
If Struijk leaves, it will be impossible to find a replacement, thus Brugge’s lack of interest is encouraging.
It will be interesting to see how the 24-year-old convinces Farke that he is worthy of starting consistently, and perhaps the international break has come at the best time for him.
