AMAZING: Fans are dying to get season tickets after after Christian Wood’s first reaction to the Lakers deal.

After considerable delay, the Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed Christian Wood to a two-year contract with a player option for the following season. Even though Wood can be a frustrating player at times, this is a huge acquisition for the Lakers. The Lakers’ nucleus of LeBron James and Anthony Davis will gain a guy who averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds last season at a minimal cost.

Now, it makes sense that Wood will be very motivated to perform well for the Lakers next season, since he wants to cash in on the sizable payout he missed due to his disappointing 2022–23 Dallas Mavericks season finale. But if Wood’s most recent tweet is any indication, he may be more driven to provide a strong performance than his financial situation.
Christian Wood shared a message on his official Twitter (X) account on how important it is for him to join the Lakers.

“Being a laker has always been my dream,” Wood penned.

Now, this might have two different effects on Christian Wood. One is that he accomplished his longtime desire to join

One is that accomplishing his longtime goal of joining the elite Lakers organization will motivate him to perform at a higher level and increase his ambition to disprove everyone after signing a modest $2.7 million contract for the 2023–24 season.
Wood might, however, give in to the pressure of representing the Lakers and playing with LeBron James. Given the low cost, it’s difficult to criticize Wood too harshly for any on-court shortcomings he might have, but both of those considerations make him the subject of increased scrutiny. In any case, Jarred Vanderbilt or Anthony Davis will be present to assist cover for his defensive shortcomings.

With Christian Wood perhaps joining a bench unit that already includes Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura, and Taurean Prince, the Lakers now have tremendous depth at several important spots. Additionally, Wood will be a huge insurance policy for the Lakers in case Davis needs to miss a few games occasionally due to load management or his propensity for picking up a few injuries.
