Huge Blow: After a failed summer move, Tottenham star might be forced to leave until January.

Hugo Lloris, the goalie for Tottenham Hotspur, was rumored to be leaving the north London team during the summer transfer period.

The 36-year-old has yet to successfully negotiate an exit, though. Despite interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, according to a Guardian story, the goalie is still working out with the Spurs team.

It will be intriguing to see if Tottenham and the seasoned Frenchman can come to terms on a transfer before the transfer market shuts in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Lloris may not feature for the Premier League team until January if he decides to stay at the club.

According to the article, Tottenham are dissatisfied with the goalkeeper’s predicament right now and think that the 36-year-old has had enough time to decide his long-term course of action.

It is not surprising that Tottenham is trying to sell Lloris now because he will become a free agent at the end of the current campaign. Rather of losing him to a free transfer the next year, they will be able to reclaim a small cost for him.
The 36-year-old has long served Tottenham faithfully, but in the past year, he has plainly declined and is no longer good enough to start for them frequently.

Guglielmo Vicario has already been brought in by Tottenham as a long-term replacement, so it’s unclear if the Frenchman is willing to take the chance of being sidelined until the January transfer window.

He won’t be able to return to his best form, but clubs like Saudi Arabia and Turkey may still find him to be a very handy choice. Lloris will still have the option to travel to Turkey, where the transfer deadline ends on September 15th, even though the transfer window in Saudi Arabia closes later today.
