The 17-year-old moved from Celtic, a powerhouse in the Scottish Premiership, to Leeds on a scholarship last summer.
Mahady, who turned 17 last month, made several appearances in the U18 Premier League during his first season in West Yorkshire and has now earned a two-year contract.
Rory Mahady has agreed to terms on a professional deal with Leeds United that runs through the summer of 2025, the club said in a statement on Friday afternoon.
Rory has signed a professional contract, and everyone at Leeds United would like to congratulate him on that. We look forward to following his progress at Thorp Arch.
Mahady saved two penalties against France during Scotland’s match in the Under-17 European Championships this summer.
