Huge Blow: Bradford City dealt with huge blow as summer signing set to Miss weekend fixture due to Injury

According to a Telegraph & Argus story, Tyler Smith will be the subject of late checks by Bradford City before their match this weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, Bradford City will play at home against Grimsby Town.

Smith, 24, is questionable for the game against the Mariners after suffering an injury in practice.

Mark Hughes, the manager of the Bantams, told the Telegraph & Argus: “We’ll give him as much time as he needs, but right now he’s a doubt. Tyler’s loss would be tragic, but we have other possibilities. We can examine several things.

Possible setback for Bradford
Hughes hinted that Smith’s absence might be detrimental to Bradford. He offers helpful depth and competitiveness in their striking department and is ready to get back into shape after his summer move.

After leaving Hull City, the Yorkshire club raced in to recruit him in order to improve their attacking options. Since then, he has scored one goal in eight games for his new team.

Smith signed a two-year contract at the MKM Stadium before joining the Tigers in 2021, the year they won the League One championship under then-manager Grant McCann. He went on to make 39 appearances for the Championship team and found the net on five occasions, as well as having a loan spell away at Oxford

The man, who was born in Sheffield, began his career with Sheffield United and progressed through the team’s ranks before making his first-team debut. In order to acquire experience, he was loaned out from Bramall Lane to Barrow, Doncaster Rovers, Bristol Rovers, Rochdale, and Swindon Town as a young player.

Although Bradford is now his home, it is still unknown if he will be ready for their game against Grimsby. The last time out, Hughes’ team drew 0-0 with Mansfield Town.
