Amazing Reaction: Newcastle united new signing reaction after completing deadline day transfer

The midfielder, who is 17 years old, joined Newcastle last week and immediately made the team’s Under-21 squad. Tuesday night, Hernes made his Papa John’s Trophy debut as he came on as a substitute for The Young Magpies in their 1-0 loss at Wrexham.

Hernes posted on Instagram after his first week at the team: “Proud to announce the start of a new chapter @nufc – Thanks to all the staff and players @shrewsburytown. God is wonderful.
Hernes made three first-team appearances for Shrewsbury in the first month of the 2023–24 season before transferring to Newcastle and making his Carabao Cup debut against Leeds United.

The adolescent, who was born in Norway, has played twice for his nation at the Under-17 level and recently earned his first professional contract with Shrewsbury.

Leo Shahar and Trevan Sanusi, two members of the England Under-16 national team, have both recently joined Newcastle from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City, respectively. Both deals are unlikely to be made public by the club because the players are both 16 years old and ineligible for professional contracts.

After deciding to join the team, Sanusi and Shahar have both been spotted wearing Newcastle shirts at St. James’ Park during the past week.

Since Dan Ashworth was appointed sporting director at Newcastle last June, the academy has received a lot of funding and new hires. The Magpies added a number of new players to the club’s youth teams throughout the summer, but only Cathal Heffernan from AC Milan and Hernes from Shrewsbury received professional contracts.
