The absence of Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez from training today amid allegations of fitness concerns has raised further questions for Milan in the France camp.
They were already alarmed when Olivier Giroud left Tuesday night’s EURO 2024 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland with a limp after 25 minutes.
Although tests on the left ankle revealed no major damage, the seasoned striker was nonetheless ruled out of the forthcoming friendly match against Germany and will be flown home early for treatment with Milan.
The fact that goalkeeper Maignan and fullback Theo Hernandez did not participate in practice, however, has caused additional anxiety today.
Theo Hernandez reportedly suffered a minor injury to his calf muscle, according to RMC Sport.
Maignan worked in the recuperation area while having physiotherapy as a result of ongoing muscular problems in recent months.
The remainder of the France team merely engaged in very light training due to the intense heat.
The Serie A top-of-the-table matchup between Milan and Inter will take place on September 16.
