BREAKING NEWS: Andy Gray shares Everton verdict about Sean Dyche replacement at Everton

Even though Andy Gray believes Sean Dyche is the best candidate for the position at Goodison Park, Everton may still be demoted from the Premier League.

Only freshly promoted Luton Town and Burnley, who have each played one fewer game than Dyche’s team, are ahead of the Toffees in 18th place in the Premier League, and they have only managed to score twice in their first four games.

Beto was added to Everton’s front lineup during the transfer window in the hopes that the Portuguese striker would score enough goals to keep the Toffees in the Premier League. Gray, a former Goodison forward, isn’t sure Dyche’s team will score enough, though.

He added in a Daily Mail interview on September 10 that he was “dismayed, disturbed, whatever adjective you want to use. Everton is now paying for years of poor management. They’ve been pulling the plug for three years, so naturally I worry about them once more this year.

“Including keeping Burnley in the Premier League, this is the biggest management assignment Sean has ever faced. Talk about Graham Potter is prevalent. What could he possibly do, with the present roster of players, that Sean couldn’t?

Backing

Since it is obvious that Dyche, the former Burnley manager, has limited options at Goodison in terms of bolstering his squad with talent, there doesn’t seem to be much of a desire on the side of anyone linked with Everton for him to leave so early in the season.

Since Gray and Richard Keys were the two analysts who felt Frank Lampard would be a better fit for Chelsea than Julian Naglesmann, their dismissal of Potter shouldn’t come as a surprise. Gray is an admirer of the traditional methods that Dyche uses at Everton.

The current manager of Brighton and Chelsea is a top-notch footballer. He has shown he was a success in the Premier League despite his failure at Stamford Bridge, but he is not what Everton needs right now as they appear to be once again facing relegation.

Everton doesn’t have to play especially skillful football. They must find a method to remain in the Premier League, and if any manager has done it before while working with constrained resources, it was Sean Dyche at Burnley.

Since the Toffees’ performances thus far this season have justified more points than they have already earned, hopefully they will have enough to avoid the drop and Gray’s concerns won’t come true.
