According to a source, the AC Milan administration will have money ready to go out and bolster the team in January if they feel appropriate.
The fact that Milan was willing to spend €18 million to sign Mehdi Taremi from Porto towards the conclusion of the transfer window demonstrates that there was some money left over from the summer budget, claims Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it).
A sum had been agreed upon between the two clubs, and the Iranian center striker was on the verge of joining the Rossoneri. However, the deal fell through, and Milan decided to sign Luka Jovic from Fiorentina at the very last minute.
When Milan might require additional reinforcements to compete for the Scudetto and the Champions League, the remaining budget from the summer could come in help.
It is unknown if the sum directly equates to the same €18 million number, and it is possible that management decided to conserve the funds for next summer rather than spend it in January.
