EXCLUSIVE: As Chelsea is conducting more research on possible forward transfers than their competitors.

The England international is presently serving a temporary suspension from football, but it appears Chelsea is a big fan and wants to be first in line to sign him once he becomes available again.

Chelsea are reportedly ahead of their competitors in terms of the preparation they’ve made to persuade Toney to come, so Blues supporters will undoubtedly feel optimistic about this potential deal.

Toney has been quite excellent while playing for Brentford, and it’s simple to picture him making the transition to Chelsea.

The west London giants haven’t had the best year, but Toney might be a key addition to offer Mauricio Pochettino more skill in front of goal.

Compared to relatively inexperienced young players like Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja, the 27-year-old appears to be a perfect upgrade. However, it is unclear exactly what position Christopher Nkunku will play once he recovers from an injury.
