Ivan Toney is set to rejoin his Brentford colleagues for training next week, with the restrictions of his eight-month betting ban lifting on Sunday.
Prior to his suspension in May, striker Toney was suffering from a hamstring issue, which may need a gradual return to training after the injury and his extended layoff.
On his return to the club, Brentford medics will analyze Toney’s rehabilitation to determine when he will be cleared to practice with the rest of Thomas Frank’s squad.
Toney is anticipated to participate fully in workouts until his ban expires and he is allowed to play again in January.
Ivan Toney is poised to return to Brentford training next week as limitations on his betting ban ease, though he will not be able to play until January.
In May, the striker was suspended for eight months after confessing to 232 betting rule violations.
Toney received the lengthy sentence and a £50,000 fine after accepting 232 violations of the FA’s betting rules.
He was unable to practice with his club as part of the punishment for the first half of the ban, but he has been working hard away from Brentford and was recently photographed training alone.
