INTRIGUING: BBC pundit’s audacious prediction before Brentford’s match vs Newcastle.

The former Blackburn and Celtic player thinks this will “bring the best out of Newcastle,” and he predicts that we’ll “click again” and “demolish” the Bees despite the fact that we’ve lost three of our first four Premier League games.

A big assertion, but we have a history of stylishly rebounding from setbacks. After suffering our greatest loss of the previous campaign—a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa—we came home and destroyed Tottenham 6-1.

Although Brentford is a difficult team to beat—they are now unbeaten in 11 games—we produced a similar score in the same game last year, winning 5-1.

It might be the performance we need to ‘kickstart’ our season and give us a huge confidence boost going into the Champions League, as Sutton suggests. He said the following to BBC Sport:

“After his team’s string of three straight losses, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has a tough game on his hands.

Brentford is one of the worst clubs to play against in this circumstance since they are so well-organized and dangerous when they advance.

“But what about that? Newcastle will actually perform at their best on this day, in my opinion, and they will finally rekindle their chemistry.

“They defeated the Bees by five goals the previous time they visited St. James’ Park, and I believe they will completely destroy them this time as well, kicking off their season.

“Prediction: Newcastle 4, Brentford 0”.
