According to MilanNews, Pioli was queried about the presence of management at the post-game press conference. He added that they gave their assistance following a difficult game.
“Management was there to support us; we can’t go home with our heads held too high,” he explained.
Milan will face Newcastle in the Champions League on Tuesday and must alter their emphasis immediately. Given how much the derby symbolizes in the city, it may be easier said than done.
A win would send a vital message not only from the players, but especially from Pioli, who has been fiercely criticized since last night.
