HORRIBLE DECISION: Frank provoked as bias officiating cost His team a point away rom home.

After it was determined that Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon had been fouled by Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken within the penalty area, the game was won by a Callum Wilson penalty.

After the linesman raised a flag for a foul, referee Craig Pawson pointed to the spot but initially did not award the penalty.

While praising Newcastle and calling St James’ Park “one of the best home grounds in the world,” Frank criticised the decision to award the home team a penalty.

Frank remarked later, “First and foremost, I would say I think we played a very excellent game. “Everyone is aware that coming here is challenging.

One of the nicest home fields in the entire globe. Our performance was excellent, and it was a close game that we had a chance to win. It is disheartening to be standing here with a decision that I believe to be incorrect.

“Normally, I never voice a complaint about penalties, but in this case, I believe the choice was incorrect. The linesman must be completely certain.

“The reason a penalty was granted is because it was an on-field judgement; if it hadn’t been, VAR would never have reversed that decision.

“We were advised that it shouldn’t be a penalty when it happened to Kevin Schade against Tottenham in a similar circumstance with the custodian reaching out and making touch with the player but pulling out just before.

“I’m sure Howard Webb will apologise when the referee panel reviews it; that’ll be even more frustrating.

Of course, we all give it our best effort; after all, I expect a lot from my players, and they proved it. I also want the referees to have strong morals. Although the atmosphere and home field are wonderful, they definitely influence choices.
