According to an alleged sports agent, Tottenham Hotspur may lose Yves Bissouma in the January transfer window.
The Athletic spoke with 18 of the game’s top agents to get their view on what teams have done this summer and what they expect to happen in the future.
Unsurprisingly, half of them chose Tottenham’s signing of James Maddison as the best summer transfer move.
Agent questions Yves Bissouma’s future
When asked what deal they expect to happen during the January transfer window, one of them delivered an unexpected response.
While the most votes were cast for ‘Ivan Toney to leave Brentford’ (3), one of them surprise stated that they expected Bissouma to depart the North London club.
That is a perplexing viewpoint given that the Mali international has been a linchpin of Ange Postecoglou’s midfield, with the Spurs head coach even revealing that he had asked the 27-year-old to be one of the side’s leaders (talkSPORT).

Maybe the agent in issue has a link with Bissouma’s agents and knows something we don’t.
I’d be shocked if the 27-year-old demanded a transfer midway through the season, given that he appears to be prospering in Postecoglou’s system.
With the midfielder’s contract expiring in 2026, I do not expect Tottenham to entertain any offers for him in the upcoming transfer window.
