DONE DEAL: Everton agree contract terms with England Sensational as Goodison Park contract signed

Everton have announced that goalkeeper Billy Crellin has extended his contract until the end of June 2025.

On Wednesday [20 September], the Toffees revealed the new arrangement on their official website.

Crellin has played for the Toffees’ U21 and U23 teams since signing in January 2022 from Fleetwood Town.

“I’m over the moon to be extending my stay here,” the 23-year-old, who has yet to play for the senior team, said after agreeing to new terms.

“It means a lot to me and my family because we’re all Evertonians.”

Loan relocation is required.
Crellin may be waiting for his moment to shine for the first team, but he has definitely caught the eye of the U21s.

The Blackpool native impressed with a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the midweek EFL Trophy.

While it is good to have an Everton supporter on the club’s books, Crellin is no longer a youngster.

Indeed, he will be 24 by the start of the next season.

It makes perfect sense for the goalkeeper to spend some time on loan when the transfer window opens in January, before perhaps challenging for a spot in the squad in 2024-25.

Jordan Pickford is without a doubt the undisputed number one, and that does not appear to be changing anytime soon, barring relegation to the Championship.

Crellin now faces competition from Andy Lonergan and Joao Virginia, and his goal must be to dethrone both of them.

He can only accomplish so by shining away from Goodison Park.
