AC Milan is seeking for a striker to eventually take over as the attacking department’s captain from Olivier Giroud, and they already have a person in mind.
According to Tuttosport (via MN24), the Milan management prefers Lille’s Jonathan David. Last season, he scored 24 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games, and he has already scored twice this season.
Milan has been monitoring David for some time and believes he is the best fit for their project.
The player has perfect attributes because he is quick, technically sound, and a deadly finisher. He also has a lot of room for growth at 23 years old.
His contract with Lille runs out in 2025, but the French club may be obliged to transfer him in order to raise funds next summer.
He will have a high asking price anyhow, and there will be competition, but Giorgio Furlani intends to win the race by leveraging successful talks with Lille.
