OFFICIAL: AC Milan announced the appointment of new head coach

AC Milan has officially announced the appointment of Vincenzo Vergine as new Head of the Youth Sector.

According to a club release, Vergine will take over the role left vacant by Angelo Carbone’s resignation, after serving in the same capacity for 13 years at Fiorentina, from 1 July 2006 to 31 December 2019, and then for the last two years at Roma.

He joins the Rossoneri’s youth academy to help strengthen the process of nurturing talent, with the goal of propelling it to become a leader in Italy and Europe.

Vergine’s past experience has seen numerous young players, including Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic at Fiorentina, make their debut in various European professional leagues.

The new manager will be based at both the PUMA House of Football and the Milanello training facility, where the Primavera prepare for a unique pathway that encompasses the entire academy.

Convinced with Milan’s youth programme, Vergine left Roma, where he won six trophies with various Giallorossi young teams during his tenure as manager.
