Stefano Pioli has practiced a 3-4-3 formation in preparation for AC Milan’s match against Hellas Verona tomorrow. In other words, the manager may make some fascinating decisions for the game.
When asked about the XI rotation during his news conference earlier today, Pioli was vague, stating that there will be eleven starts. Furthermore, he stated that they will need to adapt depending on the opponent.
According to Luca Bianchin of Gazzetta Dello Sport, Pioli tried out a new configuration in training: a 3-4-3 with Malick Thiaw, Simon Kjaer, and Fikayo Tomori at the back. Rade Krunic and Tijjani Reijnders remained in midfield.
Sportiello; Thiaw, Kjaer, Tomori; Musah, Krunic, Reijnders, Florenzi; Pulisic, Okafor, Leao; Pulisic, Okafor, Leao.
The most intriguing possibilities in the wing-back positions, however, were probably Yunus Musah and Alessandro Florenzi. It remains to be seen how much of this will convert into the starting XI on gameday, but Pioli clearly wants to be as prepared as he possibly can for his opponents.
