HEAD HIGH: As Luton Town Is Back In The Carabao Cup Race.

The draw wasn’t that favourable when it came to our third-round opponents, with Luton Town being given the long trip to face Exeter City, even though we narrowly defeated Gillingham at Kenilworth Road in the second round by the odd goal in five.

A midweek 500-mile round trip is hardly something to look forward to, especially for those who work full-time.

But, I’ve no doubt the loyal Luton travelling support will be there backing their side.

It is a game that Luton Town should win, after all we only have to take a look at their result in the EFL Trophy last week.

It was Reading’s largest victory since the 1920s as Exeter City, who entertained Reading, rested a number of their players, suffered a humiliating 9-0 loss.

We all know how unpredictable football can be, so I won’t lie: I didn’t anticipate Luton Town to return to verdant Bedfordshire with such a commanding victory. In fact, any victory would suffice.

It will be intriguing to watch which starting lineup Rob Edwards selects for his squad.

Will Rob use this game as the ideal occasion to give his preferred starting XI a significant confidence boost, or will he give players who aren’t playing much in the Premier League a chance to shine while keeping one eye on what will be a difficult match at Goodison Park this upcoming weekend?

In my opinion, a shadow XI will start, with the star players getting a chance to rest up before the Everton encounter.

But are any of our readers willing to speculate on Rob’s ideas and predict the starting XI for this Tuesday night’s match at St James Park?
