SUPERB SIGNING: Club is set to make sensational ‘signing”  of  Leeds UTD top talent.

Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray is a target for Crystal Palace.

This is according to Alan Nixon, who stated over the weekend on his Patreon page that Gray has long been a favourite of Palace, and the club’s discovery of him at Leeds has put them on “red alert.”

In light of the Premier League team’s plans to overhaul its midfield by bringing in top young players, it is stated that Palace sees Gray as a “live alternative” to Blackburn Rovers starlet Adam Wharton.

Following the club’s relegation to the Championship last season, Gray is having a breakout season at Elland Road, and Saturday’s 3-0 win against Watford marked the first game under Daniel Farke in which he didn’t start.

Nixon claims that if Leeds doesn’t succeed in getting back into the Premier League this season, they may be compelled to sell Grey since their parachute payments will be reduced from 55% to 45% the next year.

Gray, who Neil Redfearn has referred to as “sensational,” signed his first professional contract with Leeds back in March of this year, but due to his advanced age, he was unable to commit to a long-term commitment.

That means he has less than two years left on his current contract, which means elite clubs are surely keeping an eye on him.

When Gray reaches 18 in March, though, you might assume Leeds will have a long-term deal prepared to safeguard both his worth and future at the team.

Gray was born and raised in Leeds, and if the Whites were to succeed in getting him promoted, they would have a real opportunity of keeping him for a number of years.

However, as has been repeatedly demonstrated, the longer a team stays in the Championship, the greater the likelihood that its best young players will be taken away.
