ADVANCED TALKS: Portsmouth reportedly in advance talks to Land former Arsenal star – Deal looking possible

The 22-year-old free agent is currently not being considered for a permanent transfer, according to John Mousinho.

Martin has been able to practice with the Blues since last Tuesday after it was discovered that he had moved here to be with his Warblington-based girlfriend.
After being released by Norwich in the summer, the former Barnsley and Doncaster loanee is searching for a new team.
After leaving the Academy, he played for the Canaries in 16 games, including five Premier League substitute appearances.

The recent injury to Anthony Scully, who will have knee surgery this week and is not anticipated to return until the New Year, has limited Pompey’s options on the wings.

Despite Martin’s continued appearance on the practice field, Mousinho is adamant that he is not a possibility.

Norwich City confirm signing of Arsenal 17-year-old Josh Martin

Josh Martin has been practicing with us, and as his girlfriend lives nearby, this has been a great opportunity for him to join the team, according to Pompey’s manager, who spoke to The News.
He arrived on Tuesday of last week and will continue to stay here this week.

“At the moment, we’re not seeking to add anyone to the team, so it’s great to have Josh here to train. We will, of course, keep an eye on the situation here if something changes with our roster.

He’s a great, really lovely young man and clearly a strong player, but right now, our squad is content with where it is.

He is an extremely skilled inside winger rather than a pure orthodox winger. He is an excellent finisher, has a lot of experience at this level, and has played in the Premier League. He is also very, very good with the ball at his feet.

Josh is a very excellent football player, as seen by his prior career.

Martin made 23 appearances and three goals while on loan at Barnsley last season.

He only played for the Tykes through February, and he only started two League One games.

‘Both sides are really open and enthusiastic with the scenario, it’s excellent for Josh to come in and practice,’ Mousinho continued.

We’re content with the squad as it stands right now, therefore we have no plans to add new players.

You never know how things will develop, but Josh’s decision to travel and train at this level of rigor will serve him well.
