HUGE SETBACK: John Mousinho confirms injury set back vs Wycombe Wanderers as six out and two doubts

News from the Pompey team
Marlon Pack has been ruled out of Tuesday’s game.

The Blues captain was taken out around the half-hour mark against Wigan Athletic after coming under a challenge from Charlie Wyke, who was penalised for his foul. He suffered an ankle injury as a result of the challenge, and he will now have to establish his fitness.
The 32-year-old is being given every chance to play, but John Mousinho described him as ‘touch and go’ in his pre-match press conference on Monday.

Kusini Yengi, a striker, has been out since mid-August after damaging his ankle ligaments. He was supposed to return in 10 to two weeks, according to reports last week. He was working with the squad, and there is a chance he may play, but Mousinho said that Tuesday might be too soon.

Anthony Scully will have surgery on Tuesday and will most likely be gone for the remainder of the year. He hasn’t played since August 22 against Fulham in the EFL Trophy due to a meniscus tear that necessitated surgery.
Christian Saydee made a welcome return last weekend with a 29-minute cameo and will now work his way into the starting lineup.

Anthony Scully, Kuisingi Yengi, and Tom Lowery are all out. Marlon Pack: unsure.

Matt Bloomfield’s Wycombe Wanderers team news Joe Jacobson, Jack Grimmer, and Jason McCarthy are all unavailable. All three have no’specific time range’ and will be unavailable for the foreseeable future.

McCarthy underwent surgery after suffering a recurrence of a toe ailment. He missed most of pre-season and only played one competitive match, against Bristol Rovers. His initial absence was expected to last ‘approximately three months,’ which is a big setback for the former Southampton defender.

Meanwhile, Jack Grimmer was stretchered off against Burton Albion in August due to a calf injury. Joe Jacobson, a set-piece specialist, has only made one appearance, against Exeter City on the opening day, when he was placed at centre-half.
