Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison was seen hobbling in training yesterday, ahead of his team’s Premier League match against Luton Town tomorrow.
It must be an exciting moment to be a Spurs supporter right now. Ange Postecoglou appears to have transformed the club; all of the players are performing admirably, and a win tomorrow will propel Tottenham to the top of the Premier League standings. Everything is well right now, but seeing Maddison in pain yesterday is a major concern.
James Maddison was seen hobbling during Tottenham training.
Tottenham signed Leicester City’s James Maddison in the summer, and he is perhaps their finest player currently.
Since the start of the season, the Englishman has been outstanding for Spurs. He has two goals and four assists in his first seven league games, and his tally is likely to rise when his team plays Luton tomorrow.
Everyone who has seen Tottenham’s behind-the-scenes training video on YouTube is worried about Maddison’s fitness.
The 26-year-old can be seen limping at the end of the video (05:13). It appears that he is in discomfort, which is not a good sight.
The last thing Spurs fans want to see after Manor Solomon’s injury is Maddison missing games. Postecoglou will speak to the media today, and we should get an update at that time.
Maddison, on the other hand, uploaded a photo of himself and Micky van de Ven on his Instagram Story yesterday with the caption: “Smiling through the pain.” That means it’s nothing major, and he should be fine for tomorrow’s game.
He is the most crucial player for the Spurs.
Tottenham currently has a number of high-quality players, but we believe Maddison is the most crucial of them all.
Spurs have been in desperate need of a spectacular offensive midfielder since Christian Eriksen’s departure. They simply refused to sign one over the last few windows for whatever reason.
Ange Postecoglou made finding a new number 10 his top priority as soon as he arrived, and Maddison was signed for £40 million (Sky Sports), which is a steal for a player of his caliber.
As important as Son Heung-min and Cristian Romero are, we don’t believe Tottenham would be this good without Maddison.
Spurs fans are hoping he will be able to play tomorrow.
