According to reports, Danish defender Simon Kjaer has been ruled out of AC Milan’s encounter against Genoa this evening owing to a muscle issue.
According to MilanNews’ Antonio Vitiello, Kjaer will not play for the Rossoneri in Liguria on Saturday night. As a precaution, Stefano Pioli decides to leave out the Dane.
Kjaer was not expected to start the game due to the availability of both Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw, both of whom Pioli prefers, but he is a vital option off the bench given Pierre Kalulu’s absence
Kjaer joins Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ismael Bennacer, Kalulu, Rade Krunic, and Mattia Caldara as Milan players who are injured and will not play against Genoa.
Pioli will be hopeful that neither Tomori nor Thiaw are injured against Genoa, as there is currently no natural center-back to call on from the bench. If necessary, Tijjani Reijnders or Tommaso Pobega could be called upon.
