According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace has been given the go-ahead to commence a £150 million makeover of Selhurst Park next summer.
The Eagles have drawn up proposals to construct a new 13,500-capacity Main Stand, as well as remodel other portions of Selhurst Park.
As part of the stadium renovation, Palace plans to relocate its fan zone to the corner of Holmesdale Road.
According to the Athletic, Palace has surmounted new difficulties in their development process, including the evacuation of surrounding households.
According to Football Insider, construction on the new stand will now begin in the summer of 2024.
Palace is now in the midst of recruiting a general contractor to oversee their stadium project.
They have already agreed to a number of preliminary agreements to expedite the process, including a multi-million pound deal with Sainsburys for a block of land near the site.
The Londoners experienced objections from the local council at first because of their treatment of adjacent citizens, but that issue has now been settled.
The current capacity of Selhurst Park is 25,486, however the rebuilt Main Stand will increase capacity to over 33,000.
The additional seats and hospitality sectors will significantly enhance Palace’s matchday revenue, which was noted at £14.1 million in their 2021/22 reports.
The initial budget for the stadium extension at Palace was roughly £100 million, but the cost has quickly risen to a projected £150 million.
