HUGE BLOW: The 8 Portsmouth FC players who are leaving on a free next summer as confirmed by Pompey boss  ‎John Mousinho

The lads from Fratton Park have gone unbeaten in their first twelve league games, and supporters will be hopeful that this is the year they finally return to the Sky Bet Championship.

Of course, only time will tell, but things are looking up.

However, a handful of players could be released at the end of the season. With the help of Transfermarkt, we’re looking at the players whose contracts expire next summer…

Marlon Pack,

Marlon Pack, an experienced midfielder, joined the club in 2022 and signed a two-year contract.

He’s now halfway through his contract and has been a key player of the team so far this season.

You have the impression that another agreement will be reached with him, but nothing is guaranteed until the ink is dry.

Sean Raggett

Raggett has put in some strong performances during his tenure at Portsmouth, but his game-time minutes are currently decreasing.

His contract expires at the end of the season, and with other players now making it difficult for him to play frequently, he could be on his way out.

Of course, he has time to re-establish himself in the side before the season ends, but he has mostly been used as a substitute this year, and only time will tell what will happen with him.

Connor Ogilvie

Ogilvie’s contract was set to expire at the end of last season, but a year-option was exercised, and he will continue to play for Fratton Park this season.

He’s been a regular in the side thus far, and we might see him stay past this summer when we get to next summer.

He works hard and has plenty of tenacity, making him one of Pompey’s important players at the start of the season.

Joe Morrell

Joe Morrell has been a solid mainstay for the side this year at Fratton Park and is an important figure in Portsmouth’s midfield.

He is a fantastic player who has been instrumental in Portsmouth’s rise to the top of League One this season.

You’d think Pompey would want to try to work out a new contract for him before things get too close to the summer.

Joe Rafferty

Rafferty has been a regular for Portsmouth this season after joining the club from Preston North End just over a year ago.

He’s made over 30 appearances for the south coast club throughout his time in blue, and he seems ready to make more this season.

He’s a seasoned pro who looks well at home at Fratton Park, so we’ll see if his stay is extended.

Ryan Schofield

Schofield joined the club during the summer transfer window after being released by Huddersfield Town.

However, he has been playing second fiddle to Will Norris, who joined from Burnley in the summer, and as a result, his game time has been severely limited this season.

If he is content to play number two for the time being, he may stay, but he will undoubtedly want to go somewhere where he can play consistently, which could be next summer.

Swanson, Zak

Denver Hume

Hume was a rising star for Sunderland when he broke through at the Stadium of Light, but he was moved to League One Portsmouth due to a lack of playing time.

Things haven’t exactly improved since his move to Fratton Park, with him battling to break into the side since his arrival.

This one feels like he’ll be leaving at the conclusion of his contract, and he might even leave before that.
