GOOD NEWS FOR THE BEES: Ivan Toney sparks fresh speculation with cryptic Arsenal post amid transfer interest

With his latest Instagram activity, Ivan Toney has just added gasoline to the fire that he wants to join Arsenal.

The Brentford striker shared a snapshot of himself scoring a goal for the Bees against the Gunners at the Emirates, prompting some supporters to speculate that it is a new ‘come and get me’ plea to those at the top of the Arsenal hierarchy. Mikel Arteta’s men are thought to be particularly interested in the England international, and the increasing belief is that Toney feels the same way.

The 27-year-old is now serving an eight-month ban after being found guilty of 232 betting rule violations by the FA. However, the suspension will be lifted only in time for the January transfer window, suggesting that a mid-season transfer is not out of the question.

Toney has even just changed agencies and has been upfront about his desire to one day play for one of the Premier League’s big teams. “Everyone wants to play at the top of the tree,” Toney said in August on the The Diary Of A CEO podcast.

With the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli pulling the strings behind him, it is not unreasonable to expect Toney to improve on his 20 league goals from last season.
