HUGE BLOW: City Caretaker boss Kevin McDonald sweating over the availability for Key players ahead of Wrexham clash

MATTY Platt has been barred from City’s Valley Parade clash with Wrexham.

In Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wimbledon, the defender, who has played the most outfield minutes this season, received his fifth league booking.

This will knock him out of next weekend’s match against Phil Parkinson’s free-scoring Welsh team.

Caretaker manager Kevin McDonald has a number of possibilities at center half to replace Platt, including Sam Stubbs.

Ash Taylor could receive the start for the first time since the season began.

He returned from an Achilles injury to play the entire EFL Trophy game against Grimsby last week and was again on the bench at Plough Lane.

Ciaran Kelly, who scored on Taylor’s assist in the Grimsby game, is another candidate to step in as a natural left footer.
