DEAL AGREED: Melbourne Storm are set to finalise a surprise swap deal for West Tigers super star

SUPER LEAGUE CONNECTED Shawn Blore of the Wests Tigers and Justin Olam of the Melbourne Storm have been linked in an unexpected swap deal.

Blore and Olam have been linked to Super League clubs for the 2023 season, with Blore linked to Hull FC and Olam tied to Warrington Wolves.

However, it appears like neither will be moving to the northern hemisphere, with the Daily Telegraph suggesting that Melbourne and Wests may be poised for a swap deal in which both players move in the opposite way.

Blore has only a year left on his Tigers contract, and while Olam’s contract continues through the end of 2026, the centre was dropped to the Queensland Cup side for the first time since 2019, raising concerns over the 29-year-old’s future.

“The Tigers and Melbourne have held discussions about Olam signing with the Tigers and the Storm securing forward Shawn Blore in a rare player swap,” according to the Daily Telegraph. The Storm have already pursued Blore this year and were on the verge of signing him a few months ago when he was granted permission to leave the Tigers.”
