BREAKING NEWS: Detroit Piston are now advancing in trade talks to land free Agent in a bid to bolster attacking Line

If you had to pick the most vulnerable position on the Detroit Pistons team, it would probably be power forward.

They have four centers, one of whom (Isaiah Stewart) is being converted to a four, a move whose effectiveness is yet uncertain. Stewart shot poorly against OKC Friday night, but the good news is that all of his shots were wide open, and he’ll start knocking them down sooner or later.

Aside from Stewart, the Detroit Pistons lack a true power forward, since Isaiah Livers suffered an early injury and will be out for at least the first month of the season.

The Pistons have a vacant roster slot and might utilize it to bolster their depth at forward, however Troy Weaver has stated that roster flexibility is important in case a trade opportunity arises.

A power forward who has recently entered the market may intrigue the Pistons’ interest.

Could the Detroit Pistons sign free agent Darius Bazley?
The Brooklyn Nets dismissed forward Darius Bazley, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic:

Bazley began his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he had some promising seasons as a rookie. As a 19 and 20-year-old, he was earning minutes and showing some promise for the Thunder, averaging 9.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 221 games over three seasons.

He was then moved to the Suns, who didn’t have a spot for the 6-foot-8 forward.

Bazley is a quality athlete with exceptional length who has demonstrated some defensive potential in his brief career. He hasn’t been a tremendous 3-point shooter, but he did improve last season, raising his long-range average to 37.7 percent on fewer tries.

He shot over 42% in preseason, indicating that he has the potential to be a 3-and-D type at the four, which the Detroit Pistons could use. He’s still only 23 years old, so he has room to develop, and if his shot develops, he may find himself in an NBA rotation.

Bazley could be worth a shot for the Detroit Pistons, who need more depth at his position and are seeking for defensive guys.
