Christian Pulisic, a midfielder for AC Milan and the United States Men’s National Team, is adamant that Milan can still advance out of their UEFA Champions League group. With two points from three games, the Italian team is currently bottom of Group F after losing 3-0 to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
“We have to focus on the next game,” Pulisic declared. “We’re not out of it yet, we just need to string a couple of wins together. We’ve had some tough games in some tough stadiums but that’s no excuse, we need to turn it around and we need to win.”
Stuck in the “group of death” alongside PSG, Newcastle United, and Borussia Dortmund, Milan have struggled to find their form in Europe’s elite competition. Prior to Wednesday night’s defeat to PSG, Milan had goalless draws with both Newcastle and Dortmund. Just two points behind both of those teams and four points behind group leaders PSG, the Serie A club still has a chance of qualifying for the knockout phases so long as they string together some wins in the remaining matches.
