THE FINAL VERDICT: WESTERN Bulldogs midfielder learns fate at the Tribunal after charges over rough conduct

Britney Gutknecht, a Western Bulldogs midfielder, had her rough conduct allegation dropped at the Tribunal on Tuesday night.

Gutknecht was summoned to the Tribunal immediately following her massive tackle on Sydney’s Paige Sheppard during the Bulldogs’ 57-point loss to Sydney on Saturday.

While Gutknecht received a free kick for the tackle at the time, the Match Review Officer evaluated the event as careless, significant impact, and high contact, resulting in a three-match suspension.

Gutknecht, who advanced from behind and concussed Sheppard, had received the ball at half-back and was hammered into the Whitten Oval turf.

The 22-year-old is now free to play the next two rounds of the season after the charge was dropped.
The Bulldogs are at the bottom of the table and have yet to win a game after eight rounds.
