CONFIRMED: Three players ruled out for Leeds United clash v Huddersfield Town

Daniel Farke has confirmed that Crysencio Summerville will play against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, but three players are sidelined.

Summerville was left out of the lineup for the defeat to Stoke in midweek as Farke rotated his players, and he revealed after the game that he had been playing with painkillers and shoulder strapping in recent weeks.

Farke expects him to be available for the Yorkshire derby at Elland Road, although he will be missing defenders Leo Hjelde, Stuart Dallas, Djed Spence, and Junior Firpo.

“I’m sure in a few weeks he will be able to play three games in a week, but after the start to the season he has had [fitness-wise] we have to be careful,” the coach stated. “But I wouldn’t rule him out for tomorrow.”

“There are always a few knocks and kicks after the game, and with such a short turnaround, you have to make some less decisions.”

Take a stance

This is an opportunity for Daniel Farke to rally his squad and support the players who performed admirably in midweek despite the loss.

Ilia Gruev performed excellent, while Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray were fatigued, indicating that the management need not be concerned about resting and rotating players.

Luke Ayling and Crysencio Summerville are also ready to return, and the management should not be afraid to bring in others like Charlie Cresswell or Liam Cooper for the purpose of new faces and squad spirit.

With that said, he clearly has a preferred lineup that he wants to use if possible, and after losing to Stoke, a win over Huddersfield at Elland Road is critical, therefore he will select the strongest team possible.

We have a strong squad and tremendous choices, so the manager should be able to deploy them whenever he needs to without fear of performance levels slipping.
