Brendan Rodgers target three positions to strengthen in January transfer window

The Celtic supporters learned that the strength off the bench isn’t as strong as they would like during yesterday’s draw against Hibs.

Paulo Bernardo, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Daizen Maeda were removed by Brendan Rodgers and were replaced by Mikey Johnston, David Turnbull, and Hyoengyu Oh.

The game’s outcome and Celtic’s tempo were unaffected by any of the three, and Brendan Rodgers didn’t pick up the pace until the final ten to fifteen minutes of play, when James Forrest, another substitute, converted the one and only opportunity Celtic had to win the game.

The fact remains that no player on the bench has the ability to significantly impact a game, and writer Mark Guidi thinks Celtic could bolster three important areas in January to achieve just that.

I believe he’s looking for a striker. I have a feeling that he may be looking for a left back. If that’s the case, he should try to get a decent goalie before someone else does.

“I believe he has a right to obtain what he desires. And by all means, spend a few pounds without being foolish.

“Therefore, the manager has the right to receive whatever he requests. Alternatively, it comes down to this: if you don’t give him what he wants, what good is it to get him?

TBR Celtic has discussed those three positions in the past. Hugh McDonald stated that Celtic was actively seeking a goalkeeper and a left-back in the summer, and we have already talked about how they failed to bolster two of them.

Fans will be hoping that Brendan Rodgers will be able to spend big when the transfer window reopens in January because it appears that this is a recurring theme when it comes to Celtic.
