DEAL AGREED: Club boss Sean Dyche reveals he wants to ‘fast-track’ 21-year-old at Everton

Sean Dyche has said that he has been working on the finer parts of Jarrad Branthwaite’s game in training in order to accelerate his learning to improve as an Everton defender.

Branthwaite has been one of Dyche’s best players this season, gaining praise for his performances and being linked with moves to Manchester United and Manchester City.

The boss has described his training objectives and said that he is working hard to continue growing and learning bit by bit without being pressured or overworked by the coaching staff.

On 30 October, Dyche said Sky Sports, “I think so far he’s come through, he missed a bit of pre-season which was unfortunate, he’s come through, he’s got his chance, he’s working hard at his game.”

“I believe he’s paying attention. We’re still keeping the coaching level low, simply letting him learn as he goes, with tiny suggestions and other things, positional stuff, and tactical awareness.

“The idea is that you want to accelerate your learning. He’s embraced it, has been really open to what it is, and is enjoying his football.”

When asked if he was keeping tabs on the defender during his loan stint at PSV, Dyche replied, “Yeah, we had good reports.” I called him, nothing serious, just to let him know I was there and to get a feel for him.

“From his loan, there were positive reports on him.” As I previously stated, he had a really terrible pre-season, I believe it was two and a half weeks, which would have given him an opportunity to start the season, but once he got fit, we gave him a chance, and he’s done great

He is perfectly managed.

Allowing Branthwaite to grow and learn on this pitch has proven to be the ideal option for his development thus far, and Dyche has managed the early phases of his Goodison Park career flawlessly.

On the game, he has developed a powerful relationship with James Tarkowski, who has shown to be the ideal defensive partner with his experience, know-how, and skill for Branthwaite to learn from and develop his style of play.

The 21-year-old’s performances this season have piqued the interest of many, and back-to-back brilliant away games against Liverpool and West Ham have done nothing but boost his profile in England.

The defender has plenty of opportunity to develop at his young age, and Dyche allowing him to learn and develop his own game without too much input overload from the coaching staff will be a great asset to the course of his future at Everton.
