Joe Burrow struggled to recover from a calf injury and had a slow start to the 2023 NFL season for the Cincinnati Bengals. But he appears to be back to full health, which led to him receiving an NFL honor this week.
The NFL named Joe Burrow the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after an absolutely dominant performance against the San Francisco 49ers this week.
“On Sunday, Burrow was back to his usual brilliant form as the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 31-17.”
Burrow was on point throughout the afternoon, completing an astounding 87.5% of his passes and missing only four of his 32 attempts. “He threw for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions on the day, while also gaining 43 yards on the ground,” Gordon wrote for NFL.com as the league announced the award.
It’s a well-deserved honor for the quarterback, who appears to be returning to MVP form, and the NFL world reacted strongly to the announcement on social media.
