According to a source, two teams remain interested in signing Rafael Leao, and it is not ruled out that AC Milan could cash in for the proper offer.
Calciomercato. It discusses Leao’s inconsistent start to the season, noting that the Portuguese winger has three goals and three assists in the first 13 games across all competitions, whereas at the same point last season he had 10 goal contributions (4G, 6A).
Despite the fact that Milan was able to extend his contract until June 2028, speculation regarding his future and a possible move overseas has continued, with two European heavyweights keeping a close eye on him.
Paris Saint-Germain will keep an eye on Leao, especially if the Parisians are forced to part ways with Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season, as he would be the natural replacement for the Frenchman.
Manchester United’s interest in the former Lille midfielder must also be communicated. Marcus Rashford has not been as productive on the left side of Erik ten Hag’s trident this season, therefore the Dutch coach may press for Leao’s arrival.
United understands that in order to persuade Milan to negotiate the transfer of the Sporting CP academy graduate, they must pay at least €120 million. Leao’s pay at Milan is €7 million net per season (including bonuses), which the Old Trafford club is willing to double.
