BREAKING NEWS: Falcons elevate two offensive weapons from practice squad before Sunday’s game

FLOWERY BRANCH, Georgia — The Atlanta Falcons promoted two offensive players off their practice squad in advance of their Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

The Falcons announced on Saturday that tight end Tucker Fisk and wide receiver Damiere Byrd had routine elevations.

Fisk has been elevated to the field for the second time in 2023. In the Falcons’ Week 7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he played two offensive and seven special teams snaps. He didn’t keep any stats.

Falcons promote Tucker Fisk, Damiere Byrd to game-day roster

Fisk joined the Falcons practice squad as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in September 2022. He has only ever worked professionally in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, Byrd is an NFL veteran. He entered the league in 2016, has played for five teams, and has participated in 75 games. Last season, he joined the Falcons and appeared in 14 games, catching 13 catches for 268 yards and two touchdowns. He began four competitions.

However, Byrd declared free agency after the completion of the previous season. He eventually signed back with the Falcons on the practice squad in October. This is his first promotion since then.

The Falcons-Vikings game will be broadcast live on FOX at 1 p.m. ET.
