BREAKING NEWS: The Magpies head coach Craig McRae has elevated two most improved pair to to senior list ahead of 2024 season as he name’s them “BEST IN THE WORLD”

A pair of improving Magpies have been promoted to Collingwood’s senior list for the 2024 season.

According to a Collingwood club announcement, medium-sized forward Ash Johnson and pacy rebounding defender Oleg Markov were awarded for their great 2023 efforts on Saturday morning.

Johnson, who signed a new two-year deal with the Pies in the middle of the year, will be a Mid-Season Draftee in 2021, while Markov, who participated in Collingwood’s premiership victory over Brisbane, grabbed Collingwood’s final list slot late in the pre-season.

Markov, who is under contract at Olympic Park until the end of next season, participated in every Collingwood game last season after making his debut in Round 4.

Collingwood now turns its focus to the 2023 National Draft, where it currently possesses Picks 19, 33, and 80 after a profitable player movement season in which the Magpies upgraded at the small forward position by signing ex-Docker Lachie Schultz.

The count this year will take place over two evenings, November 20 and 21, at Marvel Stadium.
