RAMS BREAKING: fans react leaked starting line up as head coach named in a surprised QB

The Los Angeles Rams are expected to be without starting quarterback Matthew Stafford against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field. If that happens, Brett Rypien will start at quarterback…. and that is now the reported scenario for Week 9. Since Stafford has been nursing a sprained thumb on his throwing hand from his injury against the Cowboys, Rypien has gotten first-team reps in practice this week. Rypien’s performance this week has impressed Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

“Moving around, doing a lot of good things, making a lot of good throws, doing things that you want to see, helping us to get better,” he said. “Obviously, you have confidence in that aspect knowing that he’s going to do what he needs to do.” Rypien worked with the second-team offense in training camp and will lead the scout team in practice this season, but The Athletic reports that he’ll be in the driver’s seat in Week 9.

“Throughout the season, he was making some good throws at practice, making it difficult for us.” “He’s definitely extending plays with his feet, running around in the pocket at times, and making some good throws down the field, some accurate passes,” Donald added. “It’s things like that that you see, and I said, obviously, you want your guys out there, but you’re confident with the next guy up because you see things like that.”

In relief of Stafford late in the game against Dallas, Rypien completed five of ten passes for 42 yards. He’ll have had a full week of work if he has to go on Sunday, and the team is confident he’ll do well. Stafford was supposed to be a game-time decision… but it appears that decision has already been made.
