Stefano Pioli’s team has faltered after a strong start to the season that suggested AC Milan was a genuine title contender. They have only won one of their last six games in all competitions. As a result, they are now bottom of their Champions League group and six points behind Serie A leaders Inter Milan. Brahim Diaz was hailed as a “new signing” for Real Madrid throughout the summer. He had been on loan at AC Milan for the previous three seasons. His outstanding performance in the 2022–2023 season persuaded Los Blancos to recall him to the Spanish capital.
However, Brahim hasn’t really been seen much this season. Transfermarkt statistics show that he has played 118 minutes of football this season in just 9 appearances.
That is by no means sufficient, and it is not surprising that rumors regarding his long-term future have already surfaced. Is a trip back to AC Milan possible?

According to Calciomercato, a new loan to AC Milan in January cannot be ruled out if Brahim’s circumstances do not improve. Pioli would be happy to receive that return with open arms.
Last season, Brahim was playing some elite football for AC Milan, and there was even speculation that the Italian team might sign him permanently in the summer. He was linked to a number of elite Premier League clubs as well.
In the end, Brahim returned thanks to Real Madrid. Many believed he could be a regular contributor for the team, if not a starter, given the lack of depth in the squad. However, he now plays a bit part at Santiago Bernabeu, and it might be best for all parties if he moved away.
