BRAVES UPDATES: MLB All-Star Ozzie Albies sends emotional message to departing manager

After Ron Washtington left the Braves to become manager of the Angels, All-Star Ozzie Albies sent him a heartfelt message.
Ron Washington left the Atlanta Braves earlier this week. Washington, who previously managed the Texas Rangers, has returned to the American League West Division as the new manager of the Los Angeles Angels.

As one might expect, some players were more upset than others. Ozzie Albies, the switch-hitting All-Star second baseman, was one of those players.

Albies posted a touching farewell message to the departing Washington on social media. The message was written on the second baseman’s Instagram account, according to Talkin’ Baseball.
From 2017 to 2023, Washington served as a coach on the Braves’ staff. Albies’ career with the Braves began in the 2017 season, as it should. As a result, Washington oversaw Albies’ development and growth in the Major Leagues. He’s developed into one of the league’s best second basemen and one of baseball’s best switch-hitters.

Washington will face an intriguing challenge in Anaheim. Despite having Mi

ke Trout and Shohei Ohtani over the last few seasons, the Angels haven’t made the MLB playoffs since 2014.
