With a 4-4 record to begin the 2023-24 NBA season, the Toronto Raptors have been in the middle of the pack. They chose to stay on course and keep their current roster rather than blow it up and start over. They have some promising young players and pieces on the team, but it’s unclear how far they can go. Malachi Flynn, the Raptors’ backup guard, has recently seen his minutes increase. Flynn recently discussed his expanded role with SportsNet’s Michael Grange.
“It’s difficult to get into a rhythm, per se, and I believe basketball is a game of rhythm for everyone, especially skilled players.” “You need a rhythm out there to feel good,” Flynn explained. “And I think that consistency of knowing when I’m gonna come in and getting a consistent time, it just allows you to be more comfortable out there.”
Malachi Flynn is in his fourth season with the Raptors after being selected 29th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft. So far in the NBA, he’s had ups and downs trying to find a consistent role with the team. But it appears that this is the year for him to make a name for himself.
Flynn has appeared in eight games for the Raptors this season, averaging 13.4 minutes per game. He’s averaging 4.6 points per game, 1.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 41.4 percent from the field, 50 percent from three points, and 100 percent from the free throw line.
