SAD NEWS: Piston head coach Monty Williams reveals they will be Without Several Key stars for Tomorrow’s Game.

Atlanta plays the Detroit Pistons in their first in-season tournament game tomorrow, and Detroit will be missing some key players when the game begins.

Jalen Duren, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Harris, Monte Morris, and Isaiah Livers will all be absent. Duren is without a doubt the most significant loss for the Pistons in this game, as he is off to a fantastic start to the season and is their leading rebounder, averaging 10.6 rebounds per game.

On Monday afternoon, the Hawks added a new player to their injury report.

Trae Young, the team’s star point guard, was added to the injury report today and was listed as questionable. Others on the injury report included rookie guard Kobe Bufkin and forward Mouhamed Gueye.

Young wrote on social media shortly after being listed on the injury report:

The Hawks provided an update on the injury status of both Bufkin and Gueye yesterday:

“Guard Kobe Bufkin had an X-ray and medical review on his left thumb yesterday, which he fractured on Nov. 2. He will be evaluated on a weekly basis, and his rehabilitation will progress based on his healing. His return to play time is expected to be 8 to 10 weeks from the date of injury.

Forward Mouhamed Gueye, who has missed the last two games due to a right lower back strain, had an MRI at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex yesterday. The MRI revealed a stress fracture in the right low back. He will be evaluated again in four weeks, and his status will be updated accordingly.”

Atlanta is looking to rebound from a shocking loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday. The Hawks had just returned from a lengthy road trip that ended in Mexico City against Orlando, and it was always going to be difficult to bounce back quickly against a team as well-coached as Miami. The Heat were still without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, and Caleb Martin. The Hawks may look back on that game and wish they had won.

They will face one of the NBA’s worst teams tomorrow and should be favored regardless of whether Young plays. However, Saturday night’s game against the Heat demonstrated that no game can be taken for granted.
