NEWS AND TIPS

This past Friday, Knox and Southmont won their first regional championships. In Class 3A, the Redskins defeated West Lafayette 41-23, while the Mounties defeated Eastern Hancock 41-34.

Valparaiso’s reign as Class 5A state champions ended with a 24-20 defeat to Merrillville.

Mang Tung hit a 45-yard field goal as time expired to give Fort Wayne Snider a 19-18 victory over Mishawaka in Class 5A action.

Ben Rudolph hit the game-winning 40-yard field goal in Indianapolis Ben Davis’ 27-24 Class 6A victory over Indianapolis Cathedral.

Isaac Parker has stepped down as head coach at Jeffersonville after going 13-37 in five seasons with the Red Devils.

Goshen is looking for a new coach after Tom Wogoman announced his retirement after a 2-17 season with the RedHawks.

Only six members of the 2023 Indiana Football Digest’s Prime Time 25 are still in the playoffs as of Friday’s semistate finals. Keegan Bluhm (Central Adams). Nylan Brown (Indianapolis Ben Davis), Tyler Cherry (Center Grove), Ian Moore (New Palestine), Josh Ringer (East Central), and Lukas Rohrbacher (Fort Wayne Snider) are among the players to watch.

THIS WAS THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS WERE UNDEFEATED.
