BULLDOGS UPDATES: The Bulldogs’ push to rebuild their roster is continuing as they target yet another forward

The Canterbury Bulldogs are said to be interested in signing Sydney Roosters forward Terrell May for 2025 and beyond.

May had an excellent 2023 season with the Roosters as he continues to develop into a permanent first-grade role, one that could grow even more in 2024 as he competes for starting minutes.

A pair of excellent performances off the interchange bench for the Roosters during the finals series will do nothing to diminish his standing with the club or in the eyes of coach Trent Robinson.

It was reported a few weeks ago that the Roosters were in contract negotiations with May and a number of other players, including Siua Wong and Nat Butcher.

May was expected to re-sign almost immediately, with the Roosters having plenty of options for 2025 and beyond with fewer than ten players signed.

However, with the club desperate to keep players like Joey Manu and Butcher, and having spent heavily in the forwards to bring Spencer Leniu to the club for 2024, May could end up with bigger offers from other clubs.

According to Wide World of Sports, the Canterbury Bulldogs are one of the clubs interested in signing the forward.

May is said to have had a close relationship with Cameron Ciraldo when he was a junior in the Penrith system. Ciraldo is now Canterbury’s head coach.

May appeared in 17 games in 2023, bringing his career total to 26, averaging 100 metres per contest and tackling at nearly 95%.

With a lack of forward depth on the market, don’t be surprised if more clubs join the queue for the young gun as the November 1 deadline for off-contract players to speak with rivals fades into the rearview mirror.
