BREAKING NEWS: Lions’ head coach Dan Campbell Addresses his Future amid potential return to Texas A&M Job

On Friday, Lions coach Dan Campbell addressed the coaching opening at his alma mater, Texas A&M, making his first public comment since rumors linked him to the position. Campbell dodged a question about whether Texas A&M contacted him, but he made it clear that he is not a candidate for the position. “Maybe,” Campbell said when asked if the Aggies contacted him. “But that’s fine. I know a few people there, and I enjoy my school. That is my alma mater, and I want to help them in any way I can, including coaching for them.”

After seeing what he has done with the Lions in developing the team into a legitimate Super Bowl contender, it makes sense that A&M would consider Campbell as a candidate. However, given how well Detroit (7-2) is performing under his direction, it is understandable that Campbell would be uninterested.
Campbell was then asked what kind of candidate is required to fill the vacancy at his alma mater. “Certainly, the hire is critical. It must be someone who understands the state of Texas, the history of Texas A&M, and the ability to communicate with and develop young people. That’s where it all begins. “Excellent leadership.” Could UTSA’s Jeff Traylor be that coach?
