BREAKING NEWS: Falcons fans make an outrageous QB demands to board ahead of NFL Draft

The Atlanta Falcons are still vying for a playoff spot in the 2023-24 NFL season, but the quarterback position is dominating the news, and not for good reasons. The Falcons (4-6) are in the midst of a full-fledged quarterback controversy in Week 11, switching back and forth between the young Desmond Ridder and veteran Taylor Heinicke. With a talented college draft class coming up this spring, could the

The Falcons were projected to take Michigan Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy with the ninth overall pick in Sports Illustrated’s most recent mock draft.
“This offense is loaded with playmakers, but Atlanta needs the right quarterback to take full advantage of that talent at the other skill positions,” according to Sports Illustrated. “McCarthy is a complete passer who knows how to make plays inside or outside of the pocket, throws with accuracy and efficiency, and boasts an underrated ability to impact the game with his athleticism.”

Caleb Williams Wants to Play for Dolphins, Undecided on 2024 NFL Draft

McCarthy is not as “flashy” as quarterbacks such as USC’s Caleb Williams or Washington’s Michael Penix Jr., but he has led the Wolverines to an undefeated season and a top-four ranking in the College Football Playoff poll. McCarthy has thrown for over 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns with only three interceptions so far in 2023, and he also has 171 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. If the adage “if you have two quarterbacks, you have none” holds true for Atlanta, finding a new signal caller in the draft may be the best option, and McCarthy appears to be more than capable of leading an NFL offense if he can gain some experience.

There’s still plenty of time for Arthur Smith and company to turn things around, but if they can’t, there’s always the possibility of receiving a high draft pick. Perhaps it will be used on a quarterback.
